MRW was founded in 1976 in Moscow, Idaho. Our first projects were editing theses and dissertations at two local universities. From there we graduated to journals and books. As partners worked in different directions, we formed various offshoots, from Nieman Ryan Designs to the G. P. Marsh Institute.
After decades of varying success, we decided to publish our own books. So, we formed 3 Muses Books, after our most popular imprints, Calliope Press (Poetry), Urania Press (Science), and Clio Press (History).
